Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic global development team at Baxter Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in crafting innovative solutions for intricate challenges within the fluid management sector. Your expertise in software development, from embedded levels to user space, will be instrumental in transforming software system requirements into state-of-the-art medical products. This is a unique opportunity to join team in the establishment phase and join a project that is being developed from scratch.

Software Team Leader

Key Responsibilities:

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy software systems and applications, spanning from embedded level to user space.

·      Support the design, documentation, and implementation of embedded systems, including I/O, USB interface, Ethernet, controls, test equipment, emulator software, network devices, and communication software.

·      Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, ensuring adherence to medical industry standards and best practices.

·      Work closely with the hardware engineers to perform bring up and tests for newly developed hardware.

·      Stay up to date with emerging technologies and software development methodologies, applying this knowledge to improve our software development processes and products.

·      Work closely with system engineers, regulatory team, cyber security team, and other stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into technical specifications and software designs.

·      Ensure software systems and applications meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and security, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

·      Define appropriate unit test and verification methods to ensure designs meet performance requirements.

·      Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to software aspects of devices and associated systems.

·      Perform integration of hardware and software, integration of components, between different software elements.

·      Develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external development partners across the globe.

Skills and Competence:

·      Extensive C++ programming experience.

·      Experience with Embedded Linux

·      Proficiency with the Linux Operating system.

·      Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Design Patterns.

·      Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language (UML).

·      Strong understanding of Agile methodology.

·      Experience in microservices architecture.

·      Advantages

o  Familiarity with the Yocto Project.

o  Experience developing medical devices.

Education

·      B.Sc in Computer Science or related engineering

Work Experience

·      A demonstrated track record in software development, preferably for medical devices or other regulated product domain.
