Senior Associate Researcher: Mass-Spectrometry

We are seeking a motivated individual with significant laboratory experience operating high-resolution mass spectrometers to join the Center for Metabolomics and Molecular Phenotyping (CMMP), part of the Metabolic Center at Sheba Medical Center. You will play an integral role in coordinating our ongoing biomarker research exploring causes of disease, diagnosis, and precision medicine including cancer, women's health, and others.  

You are expected to be a part of the Metabolomics team, participate in discussions and lab meetings, as well as be an integral part of advancing the methods development, research, and service projects central to our laboratory. For your regular responsibilities, you will be the primary operator for an LC-HRMS instrument (Orbitrap IQ-X Tribrid), preparing biological samples for chemical analysis, performing instrument maintenance, method development, and data acquisition of research and service samples, data processing, and report writing. You will also perform science administration roles such as ordering and helping with receiving and shipping samples. 

Knowledge/Skills:

·      Minimum of M.Sc. in metabolomics, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or other public health related field and 3+ years of experience in a research laboratory

·      Experience using LC-HRMS instrumentation

·      analytical wet-laboratory skills

·      familiarity with QA/QC procedures

·      interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team

·      organizational and time management skills
