Role Overview:

The Engineering Department Lead at Ritual is a cornerstone position tasked with shaping the technical vision, building and mentoring diverse engineering teams and spearheading the development of our digital platform. This role is vital for advancing our technology infrastructure, promoting a data-informed culture, and ensuring the delivery of groundbreaking products. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a multifaceted team, including remote members, and embody the agility required to thrive in a startup environment.

Here are some of the things he will do:

• Lead Ritual's engineering team, ensuring excellence in performance and quality.
• Manage team execution and deliverables with direct coding and design leadership.
• Design and develop new groundbreaking tech-savvy initiatives that will utilize the data we collect to improve the product.
• Collaborate with content, operation, and growth departments and closely work with the PM to define the team's roadmap, goals, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the CTO to establish a business-aligned technical roadmap, enhancing product innovation with a focus on data-driven practices and analytics integration.
• Prioritize data security and compliance through data-driven risk assessments and stay abreast of industry regulations.

Here's what we're looking for:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in development - (React, React Native, Python - an advantage).
• Proven track record in engineering leadership, software development, data engineering, and/or data science teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of software and data architecture, cloud computing, and agile project management.
• Proficiency in either:
• The cloud development ecosystem includes CI/CD, testing frameworks, design systems, secure development practices, and Appstore presence and ratings management.
• Data engineering and data science domains.
• Demonstrated ability to lead both on-site and remote teams effectively.
• Experience in leading technically and organizationally complex projects
