About the Job

We seek a hands-on VP of R&D with deep technical expertise and a go-getter attitude to lead our technology vision and execution. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of educational technology while building a scalable, AI-driven platform from the ground up. You'll lead the development of our teacher, student, and client portals in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead the development of our AI education platform, from architecture to implementation
• Build and manage the engineering teams while establishing development processes and technical standards
• Lead our AI/ML strategy to create personalized learning experiences for students
• Drive the development of our initial MVP, focusing on core features and scalability
• Work closely with education experts to align technical solutions with learning needs

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent education.
• 5+ years of proven software development experience.
• Strong background in AI/ML technologies and their practical applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience with modern programming languages and web technologies.
• Knowledge of database design and distributed systems.
• A "Can-Do" attitude and self-starter mindset.
• Ability to break down product requirements into technical deliverables.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguous environments.

Technical Expertise in AI and ML:

·        Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on expertise in developing deep learning algorithms using PyTorch or TensorFlow.

·        Oversee the full data science lifecycle, including problem definition, data collection, model development, evaluation, and deployment.

·        Strong understanding of data pipelines, feature engineering, and model deployment to production.

·        Proficiency in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to develop models for personalized learning paths and student diagnostics.

·        Experience in building recommendation engines to suggest personalized content and exercises based on student progress and preferences.

·        Experience in designing models that adjust dynamically to the evolving needs of students based on real-time performance data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft development tools and Azure services.
• Background in ML model development and deployment.
• Track record of leading engineering teams.
• Experience in product execution from inception to production.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements in education.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience in EdTech or educational software development.
