Position Overview:

As the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will influence product and engineering organizations to ensure appropriate and consistent architecture, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud environment. This role requires technical background in AWS services, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture and Design:

• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure AWS infrastructure that meets the company's business requirements.
• Provide expertise in areas such as VPC design, EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and other key AWS services.
• Cloud Networking standards and best practices
• Hybrid network interconnectivity with on-premises data centers and cloud resources
• Identity and Access Management design, including hybrid IAM

Infrastructure Automation:

• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate deployment and scaling processes.

Security and Compliance:

• Establish and enforce security best practices in the cloud environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular security audits and implement measures to protect against potential threats.

Performance Optimization:

• Monitor and optimize the performance of the cloud infrastructure, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, operations, and security, to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Cost Management:

• Implement cost-effective strategies for resource allocation and usage, optimizing the AWS environment for efficiency and budget considerations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cloud infrastructure engineer or in a similar role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and solutions.
• Transformation Experience: Possess a background in leading transformation programs. Demonstrated experience in delivering initiatives to senior executives and stakeholders is essential.
• Solid security architecture knowledge of key building blocks such as networking, data ingress / egress technologies, authentication / authorization design patterns, encryption standards for data in transit and in persistence, and data integrity controls
• Hands-on secure cloud development and deployment experience
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Excellent influencing and communication skills.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
