Motor Design Engineer (Mechanical)

We at EVR are looking for a talented and motivated mechanical design engineer to help deliver our cutting-edge automotive electric motors to our customers and partners.

In this role you will conceptualize and turn your designs into real, high-performance, electric motors. You will work as part of the R&D group with all its different disciplines (Thermal, Electromagnetic design, prototyping, etc.) as well as many other internal and external stakeholders as part of the effort to deliver electric motors to our automotive customers and partners.

As a motor design mechanical engineer, you will have ownership and responsibility over the integration of all mechanical assembly of the motor, from design to assembly. These include, CAD design, drawings and BOM preparation, supplier engagements, design optimizations, and more. In addition, lead other efforts done by the R&D group as part of the company’s roadmap.

Responsibilities:

·        End-to-end ownership of motor product family (or families)

·        Supporting other design activities from time to time

·        Initiate and manage design optimization processes to improve performance, DFM, etc.

·        Work with other stakeholders to have a complete motor design with all disciplines taken into account

·        Engage with external suppliers to bring technical know-how and capabilities in-house

·        Participate and support prototype units bring-up and initial testing

·        Investigate technical issues, initiate root cause analysis and solution implementation plan

Requirements:

·        At least 10 years of experience in CAD design of multi-disciplinary systems

·        Excellent experience working with SolidWorks CAD

·        Mech. Engineering degree

·        Previous experience in automotive related engineering projects – Advantage

·        Previous experience in electric motor design or closely related products – Advantage

·        Curious, hands-on, and analytical approach
