Senior Risk Manager

This is a role within Risk & Compliance Function in HSBC Israel will oversee and manage various aspects of financial and non-financial risks work streams while ensuring overall alignment with global policies and local regulation.

The job holder will report locally to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) and will establish strong partnership with the country business and functional teams as well as regional stakeholders, acting with them to drive the implementation of policies and ensure safe growth.

Role responsibilities:

• Support the business in the achievement of its sustainable growth aspirations, by protecting and enabling the business through appropriate risk management discipline; ensuring risks are captured, understood, and clearly communicated to key internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Provide independent advice, support, and challenge the different country lines of business under Group's risk strategy and appetite (ensuring alignment with local regulation) and support management of key exposures.
• Proactively identify, assess, and provide a forward-looking view on top and emerging risks and issues within the Risk Map, developing mitigating strategies where necessary
• Support CRCO in overseeing the country’s overall risk portfolio, providing judgement, challenge and analysis of risk and reward, ensuring exposures are managed in a consistent and systematic way in accordance with the parameters set by the country’s Risk Appetite Framework
• Overseeing implementation of strategic risk related to projects and the overall Risk and Compliance transformation agenda in country.
• Support CRCO in managing the relationship with relevant regulators.

Job requirements:

• Role holder must be located in Israel with fluent business English and Hebrew.
• Previous 7+ years' work experience in Control / Risk / Audit / Compliance roles.
• Proven banking experience with an understanding of banking activities, products, processes, and systems.
• Sound understanding of the different risk areas.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector.
• Able to conceptualize the operational impact of business change.
• Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Ability to understand complex concepts and provide streamline solutions.
• Relevant academic degree.
