Organic Chemist / Chemical Engineer – Downstream Processing Specialist

We are in search of a seasoned Organic Chemist or Chemical Engineer with a specialization in downstream processing for our team. This role is pivotal in advancing our commitment to sustainable product development and optimizing chemical processes for the extraction and purification of biodegradable polymers. Work may involve both laboratory and industrial plant settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, development, and optimization of efficient downstream processing techniques for the extraction and purification of biodegradable polymers.
• Perform in-depth research on organic substances  to enhance extraction and separation processes, with an emphasis on sustainability and efficiency.
• Offer consultancy to cross-functional teams within the company, providing expert advice on chemical processes and materials science related to polymer extraction.
• Work closely with production and R&D teams to implement sustainable, cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Establish and maintain safety and environmental compliance protocols for the handling and disposal of organic solvents and other hazardous materials.
• Facilitate the transition of processes from laboratory scale to pilot plant and ultimately to full-scale production.
• Document and communicate research findings, process innovations, and technical advancements through technical reports, publications, and presentations.

Education and Experience:

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry\Chemical Engineering\Material Engineering is required; a B.Sc. with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated expertise in the industrial downstream processing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of organic chemistry, organic solvents, and advanced extraction processes.
• A strong track record in project management, process optimization, and innovative solution development.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in chemical analysis and process simulation tools.
• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team environment across multiple projects.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and environmental safety requirements in chemical manufacturing.
