Chief Development Officer

We’re seeking a part-time Chief Development Officer (CDO) for a Bio-tech startup based in Ness Ziona.

The focus of the role involves overseeing the scientific operations within the company, while also leveraging leadership and business capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and maintain a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities 

·        Formulate and execute strategic development plans for our early-stage cancer drug candidate, guiding its progression from discovery through preclinical stages.

·        Collaborate closely with the team to drive the design and implementation of preclinical studies, optimizing protocols to accelerate development timelines.

·        Oversee external partnerships with academic collaborators, CRO’s and other stakeholders to leverage expertise and resources in advancing our drug discovery efforts.

·        Provide strategic guidance on regulatory pathways and compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.

·        Act as a key point of contact for investor relations, presenting development milestones and growth opportunities to potential funding partners.

·        Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in oncology research, incorporating insights into the strategic direction of our development programs.

·        Achieve fundable milestones and effectively execute go/no-go decisions

• Present project progress and risk assessment/mitigation plans, including budgetary considerations and challenges 

·        

Qualifications:

·        Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.

·        At least 5 year-experience in project management in the biotech industry 

·        Demonstrated experience in early-stage drug discovery and development, preferably within the oncology space.

·        Experience with a drug delivery system (e.g LNP )

·        Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams in advancing novel therapeutics from discovery to preclinical stages.

·        Strong understanding of preclinical development processes and regulatory considerations, with a keen eye for mitigating risks and optimizing resource allocation.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

·        Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation in a fast-paced startup environment.

·        Fluent English
