Backend Developer (Functional Programming Enthusiast)

Fareplace is the world’s first marketplace platform for airlines, connecting millions of travelers and airlines, providing new ways to purchase new travel products seamlessly while reducing costs for consumers and increasing airline revenue and profitability.

Our platform enables airlines to offer new products, such as real-time bidding, free flights, exclusive perks, and much more, without changing their underlying systems while automating the optimization and operation of all sold products.

We're expanding our horizons in functional programming and seeking talented developers to join our backend team, whether you're proficient in at least one of the following technology stacks: Node.js, Go, or Scala, and eager to dive into this powerful paradigm.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend systems by adopting a functional programming paradigm.
• Write clean, maintainable, and performant code, adhering to functional programming principles
• Integrate with our diverse tech stack, including Redis, MySQL, AWS, Git, MongoDB, and Kafka
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs
• Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure code quality
• Stay up-to-date with functional programming best practices and advancements
• Contribute to architectural decisions and proactively work with our product team to suggest and implement creative solutions.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development (preferably in Node.js or Scala)
• At least 3 years of experience working with relational databases (preferably MySQL)
• At least 3 years of experience building highly scalable web applications or cloud-based platforms
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
