Analytical Chemist

Summary of the role and team:

The formulator will join our analytics team. They will support our company’s efforts, mainly in cell culture media development and production, by performing analytical work and improving the formulations and the preparation/storage proto.

Your Day to Day:

• Perform biochemical and molecular analysis for R&D, quality control, and regulation using LC(MS), GCMS, NIR-spectroscopy and plate-reader assays, and PCR, following SOPs
• Analyze analytical data and prepare analytical reports.
• Operate instruments independently, troubleshoot instrumental and analytical problems.
• Plan and execute experiments for cell culture media formulation.
• Improve existing media formulation and preparation process.
• Identify potential challenges and optimize raw materials characterization.
• Define and track analyses during the process.
• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods work closely with cells & media development team as well as other functions: biologists, engineers, and chemists.

The Ideal Candidate:

Must-Have:

• MSc in Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• High-level expertise in formulation of solutions / suspension / solids / liquids.
• At least 2-3 years of experience as a formulator in industries of culture media, cultured meat, food, pharma, or other relevant fields.
• Hands on experience in analytical chemistry
• Good writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work and communicate with professionals with diverse expertise.
• Highly organized and accurate.
• Ability to multi-task and handle many projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic & fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in GLP/GMP/HACCP environment.
• Experience in working in a sterile environment.
• Experience in mentoring or managing other team members.
• Some knowledge in cell biology or cell biochemical pathways.
