As a DevOps engineer, you will have the chance to explore and implement these technologies, gaining hands-on experience and building a strong foundation in modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement and maintain cloud-native solutions using infrastructure as code methodologies including:

• Create, manage and upgrade self-managed Kubernetes clusters, using kOps
• Create and manage a variety of helm charts, write helm templates with complex logic
• Manage an on prem Gitlab instance on top of Kubernetes
• Create templates for GitLab pipelines and jobs for unified use across the company projects
• Write Docker files for different purposes
• Write Argo workflows for different purposes
• Manage AWS resources with Terraform
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes operators in Go and infrastructure automations in Python
• Maintain and enhance the platform observability stack
• Manage a monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana) on top of Kubernetes
• Create and manage Grafana dashboards for application and infrastructure
• Manage an EFK stack (elastic, fluentd/fluentbit, kibana) on top of Kubernetes
• Manage multiple production and development environments with infrastructure and application microservices, on top of Kubernetes
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application software failures and performance issues; swiftly provide root cause analysis and solution
• Secure the highly regulated environment that stores PHI information at the highest level
• Work closely with remote R&D teams (same time zone) to provide infrastructural solutions and support
  
  

Requirements:

General Requirements

• Candidates working for this position should possess at least 5 years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE Developer.
• Candidates must possess ample knowledge and experience in system automation, deployment, and implementation.
• Candidates must possess experience in using Linux, Jenkins, and also experience in configuring and automating the monitoring tools.
• The candidates should also possess experience in the software development process and tools like Shell scripting, Python, Go, MySQL, and Git.
• Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in handling distributed data systems. Examples: K8S, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Hadoop, and others.
• Candidates should have vast knowledge of cloud infrastructure experience like AWS and others.
• B.sc in Engineering degree or equivalent industrial experience.
• Excellent English (written and verbal).

The DevOps Lead Engineer role should possess excellent communication skills, which is essential to execute his duty to the juniors in the team. Having excellent communication skills will ensure that information is conveyed clearly, which in turn determines the team’s performance.

Terminologies

Having a sound knowledge of various concepts and terminologies used in DevOps like Microservices (Dockers), K8S, Big Data infrastructure and other.

Interpersonal Skills

A DevOps Lead Engineer must be a result-oriented individual, be self-motivated, and be proactive beyond their duty. They should be capable of multitasking, meeting deadlines, should remain calm during uncertainties, and working in a collaborative environment, creative, highly analytical, and strategic thinkers.

People Skills

A DevOps Engineer should be a people person who is capable of developing a good rapport with other people in the organization. He should inspire trust and confidence in his seniors, juniors, and other members of the team, who then follow his judgments, directives, and insights.
