We are seeking a District Technical Sales Representative to join our industry leading sales team. You’ll be responsible for accounts withing the heavy industry by means of engineering solutions, revenue and profit growth of programs and services.

What You Will Do:
Technical responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required
- Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels
- Utilize company tools to design systems according to customer specific needs.
· Provide industry expertise and training to customers.
· Implement agreed upon corporate account commitments and proactively inform Corporate Account Manager (CAM’s) of results, challenges and initiatives
· Follow Ecolab safety guidelines and incident reporting requirements.
Commercial responsibilities:
· Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base and in assigned competitively held accounts, to meet profit increase goals
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within current and prospective customers, including plant or facility executives
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales
- Actively sell and support Nalco Water innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships with Nalco Water
· Prepare and deliver sales presentations on Ecolab’s innovative products, equipment, and services.
· Monitoring and reporting markets in own sales territory.
Territory/Location Information:
- This position is based in North part of IL.
- Targeted accounts are within the power plants, iron steel plants, desalination plants, fertilizers, and mining plants industries

Training programs are held in the field and at Ecolab Nalco WW sites.
Based on your skill level and experience, topics covered may include technology, product, service, business and industry acumen, direct coaching and mentoring, sales management and leadership, classroom training and certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSC. engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
- Water treatment specialty or chemical industry experience
- Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems is an advantage.
- 3-5 years of technical sales or field sales support experience
