Experienced Technologist

The laboratory of Prof. Alon Chen at the Weizmann Institute of Science (The Department of Brain Sciences and the Department of Molecular Neuroscience) is looking for an experienced technologist to propel our work on cutting-edge research infrastructure.

Our lab studies stress-related psychopathologies using animal models with an emphasis on complex behavior and brain correlates.

We are looking for a seasoned maker with solid skills in hardware and software integration, electronics, computer vision, and instrument design to work on building custom research platforms in a dynamic scientific environment.

Qualifications:

* Over 3 years of software development experience, preferably in various languages.

* Hands-on experience with electronics, microcontrollers, sensors, and motors.

* Experience in building end-to-end hardware & software prototypes from user specifications.

* A proven ability to communicate complex technological designs clearly and intuitively.

* Experience in working with scientific data and instrument design is an advantage.

* Experience with PCB design is an advantage.

* Experience with CAD design and 3D printing techniques is an advantage.

* Fluent in English.

* Team player with the ability to function independently and proactively.
