Role and Responsibilities:

As the Team Leader of Engineering at Bridgewise, you will play a pivotal role in leading and guiding our engineering team to drive innovation, develop cutting-edge solutions, and maintain the highest standards of software development. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and Agile development.
• Set clear goals, provide direction, and ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within scope.
• Act as a champion of the Agile mindset, promoting its principles and practices within the team.

1. Engineering Excellence:

• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our AI-based analysis and language models, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data Science, and DevOps, to drive innovation and deliver integrated solutions.

1. Technical Strategy:

• Contribute to the development of the technical strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives and technology roadmap.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing advancements where relevant.

1. Project Management:

• Manage engineering projects, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management, using Agile methodologies and practices.
• Foster an agile and efficient development process, promoting transparency and collaboration, and utilizing tools like Jira.

1. Quality Assurance:

• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Ensure software reliability and security while maintaining a focus on innovation.

Qualifications and Experience:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• 5-10 years of experience in software engineering, including leadership roles.
• Strong technical background in AI, machine learning, or natural language processing (NLP) is highly desirable.
• Excellent proficiency in Python with at least 2 years of experience.
• Extensive experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with at least 3 years of experience, preferred experience with AWS.
• Experience with Apache Spark is a significant advantage.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams to deliver complex software projects for at least 4 years.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and a commitment to the Agile mindset.
• Proficiency in using Agile project management tools such as Jira.
• A "can-do" approach with a strong ability to drive initiatives and work effectively in a startup environment.
