Senior Product Designer

Chegg, Inc., is an American education technology company based in Santa Clara, California. It provides homework help, digital and physical textbook rentals, textbooks, online tutoring, and other student services.

We are looking for a senior product designer to join our Chegg native app design team, based in Israel.

As a senior product designer, you will be collaborating with product, data scientists, business analytics, engineers, and user research in driving initiatives from the planning stage to execution. Your goal is to improve the education process and better the lives of millions of students through UX design. 

You’ll be expected to manage projects autonomously end-to-end, with a high level of accountability, attention to detail and edge cases, and most importantly with passion.

Responsibilities

Develop a thorough understanding of our customers through research and tie their problems and needs to business impact.

Participate in the product definition process with the Product Manager, Engineering Manager, and User Research. Drive clarification of the user tasks and objectives.

Develop user experience design concepts, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, usage scenarios, specifications, and other UX design deliverables for some of Chegg’s highest-priority initiatives. Creating designs that are optimized for iOS and Android applications.

Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products and bring new ideas to the team.

Have a good understanding of current design patterns and guidelines for both mobile and web and be able to create a coherent cross-device experience in collaboration with your peers to ensure that visual design mockups are consistent with the Chegg design system.

Work with the PMs to launch experiments and iterate on your designs. Discover new ways to increase outcome metrics.

6 months position, with an option for more.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Design, or a related field.

5+ years as a Mobile App Designer, creating excellent experiences that delight the customer.

A strong portfolio emphasizing both UX and UI skills and demonstrating the relationship between form and function in your visual skills and design thinking.

Proficiency in UX Design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar tools to create mobile app designs and prototypes.

Good team player.

Good presentation skills.

Preferred

Familiarity with Adobe After Effects in creating basic animations to enhance the UX of our App.
