Research & Development Scientist I

Annual Compensation Range: $58,000-$68,000

Responsibilities:

• Select, prepare, and mix coating solutions according to formulas and specifications
• Apply coatings on medical devices per customer requirements
• Perform analytical testing on coated devices to determine performance capabilities
• Provide technical input to find creative innovative ways to apply coatings
• Write reports and present findings on coating performance and analytical analysis
• Operate and maintain analytical chemistry equipment such as HPLC, GPC, FTIR and UV/Vis spectrophotometer, coating machines, and friction testers
• Provide data analysis with statistical methods
  
  

• B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or any other related scientific discipline
• 1+ years industrial experience in a laboratory setting; preferably medical devices or coatings.
• Ability to perform chemical product experimentation with sound understanding
• Knowledgeable about a broad range of chemical analysis techniques.
• Ability to work independently, to learn and operate instrumentation related to the work
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze and interpret data from lab experiments
• Good organizational, planning, and written documentation skills
• Strong focus and operation regarding safety
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team
• Excellent communication and presenting skills, one on one or within a group
