Our client, a pioneering startup in the early stages of growth in the cloud security sector, is in search of an R&D Director. Presently, their dynamic team consists of 5 members. Their innovative solution, is at the forefront of real-time attack detection, enhancing SOC analysts' response capabilities significantly. Their platform covers a broad spectrum of use cases, elevating efficiency and productivity in cloud SecOps.

The Role:

This is a unique opportunity to join a burgeoning startup at a critical juncture. As the inaugural senior technical lead (aside from the CTO), your mission will be to establish and lead the full R&D team from the ground up, encompassing Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and QA.

Your pivotal role will involve architecting and maintaining the infrastructure of cutting-edge SaaS platform. Ideal for those passionate about melding infrastructure savvy with cloud service integration, your contributions will be instrumental in enhancing the robustness and scalability of the cloud security solutions, as well as spearheading the development of new cloud service integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary technical leadership and direction.
• Build and manage a cross-functional engineering team from scratch.
• Oversee the product development lifecycle from conception to deployment.
• Engage in system architecture, code reviews, and hands-on coding.
• Stay abreast of the latest in cloud-native development and cybersecurity.
• Work closely with product management, UX/UI design, and other key stakeholders.
• Implement and refine Agile methodologies for optimal team and project performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years in a leadership role within R&D, ideally in cybersecurity.
• Over 6 years of hands-on experience in modern programming languages (e.g., NodeJS, Python, Go, React).
• Strong expertise in cloud-native development and microservice architecture.
• Proven ability to manage and lead engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of Agile development practices.
• Familiarity with current trends in cloud security and SaaS solutions.
