System Engineering Lead for BCI Exploration at Bionaut Labs

If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the system engineering lead position at Bionaut Labs, a leading biotechnology company with offices in Israel, US and Germany.

Bionaut Labs is developing a novel Bionaut micro-robotic platform that can access deep targets in the brain and enable new possibilities for BCI applications.

We are seeking an engineering leader based in Israel to spearhead the exploration of BCI capabilities using our platform.

You will report directly to the GM of Bionaut Israel and lead a small project team of researchers and engineers based in Israel.

You will be responsible for the entire system design process, from requirements definition and feasibility analysis to POC experiments and in vitro and in vivo testing. You will also be the main technical integrator and R&D leader for the project, collaborating with multiple subject matter experts in the company and external R&D resources as needed.

You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to the project team, while also being a hands-on individual contributor and problem solver.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A graduate degree in one of the following disciplines: EE/ME/Physics/Material Science/Biomedical Engineering/Neuroscience
• At least 5 years of R&D experience in the field of brain activity sensing/neurostimulation/BCI
• At least 5 years of experience in remote power transfer to MEMS devices and/or remote sensing from MEMS devices
• At least 5 years of experience as R&D team lead managing at least 3 direct reports
• At least 5 years of system engineering experience, directly developing and integrating systems involving MEMS, RF and micro-sensors as lead system engineer
• Experience developing medical products – major plus
• Experience conducting in vivo animal tests – major plus

• Team player, communicates well across different cultures (outside of Israel) and professional backgrounds (with physicians, marketing people, engineers, etc.)

You could start work as an advisor/consultant and gradually transition to a full time employee role.
