Technical Intelligence Collection Team Lead

KELA is looking for a technical, hands-on intelligence analyst, ex-developer or sales engineer to head our Intelligence Collection team. As Collection Team Lead you’ll sit in a critical junction between Engineering, Research and Operations - and will own all of our cyber threat intelligence collection efforts. The role includes supervising day-to-day operations of the Collections team, coordinating engineering efforts around internal platforms used to build and maintain Collectors, and managing the product roadmap for everything collections.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team that’s both technical and intelligence-driven to find new sources for intelligence, develop the collection capabilities, and maintain access to ensure KELA’s clients are fully covered.

• Lead a team of collection analysts in charge of several data ingestion pipelines, comprising KELA’s main collection sources that bring in critical intelligence to our clients
• Develop in-depth knowledge of KELA’s technological stack: how our Collectors work, the technical framework for data processing and the different ETLs that get valuable intelligence from the internet to our clients
• Act as a subject matter expert for cybercrime intelligence collection: proactively research new sources, champion clients’ needs and guarantee our collection strategy is executed as expected
• Champion KELA’s clients’ collection needs by understanding their Priority Intelligence Requirements and aligning them to day-to-day execution

Skills & Qualifications:

• Self-motivated, independent worker with a sense of ownership and a multidisciplinary mindset – being able to understand and communicate with many stakeholders in different fields
• 2-3 years of experience as a technical cyber threat intelligence analyst / threat researcher – preferably in a high-paced startup. Similar experience in customer success or sales engineering may be relevant too, if technical and related to a cybersecurity or data collection product
• Hands-on understanding with basic concepts of the internet: HTTP requests, HTML, JavaScript or APIs for example
• Hands-on experience working with databases (Elsticsearch, SQL, MongoDB) and manipulating data with scripting languages (ex. Python)
• Able to understand and explain detailed technical flows in an abstract, understandable manner
• An excellent communicator (Hebrew and English), both verbally and in writing – able to break down complex concepts into actionable items and lead dialogue with clients
• Background in cybersecurity, IT or threat intelligence – major advantage
• Software development experience – major advantage
