Trade and Product Compliance Manager

Are you an experienced trade compliance leader passionate about cross-border trade? Come make history in Amazon’s Global Trade Services (GTS) team supporting Amazon’s cross-border operations and trade lane expansions. Amazon is looking for a Trade and Product Compliance Manager to manage business critical imports and exports in a compliant manner for Amazon Israel Research and Development and other business teams. You will work directly with business leadership, tax, legal, logistics, and other internal business partners to ensure support of critical business and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the development of the strategies, policies, processes, tools and solutions that will be a key enabler supporting the Amazon Israel businesses.
This candidate will be a self-starter with strong knowledge of Trade and Product Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Regulators and deep understanding of Israeli import and exports requirements and processes and be able to coordinate across different functions. To be successful in this role, you will be a Trade and Product Compliance professional and demonstrate an on-going curiosity and creativity, balanced with the ability to distill numerous inputs/ideas into meaningful actions and recommendations. This role is responsible for defining and enforcing regulatory requirements, and driving Amazon policy. You must be able to interface effectively and communicate convincingly with leaders at all levels, including the senior management and thrive in a fast paced and challenging environment. Key job responsibilities
In this role you will
- Manage GTS Trade Compliance program for Israel to ensure customs compliance.
- Work with Amazon’s Global Trade Services team to execute strategy, drive and enforce global import / export processes, seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies.
- Drive scalable business solutions and ensure compliance with trade regulations.
- Liaise with authorities and manage customs brokers involved in Amazon's import process to Israel ensuring regulations are implemented into Amazon Israel trade processes.
- Collaborate with business units to proactively identify compliance issues and comply with regulatory obligations.
In this role no two days will be exactly the same but regular activities will include:
- Engaging with regulators and/or customs brokers on trade related matters.
- Working with business, legal and logistics stakeholders to develop strategies to support business requirements
- You will be responsible to ensure the accuracy in import declarations - including classification, customs valuation, other regulations.

Basic Qualifications
- Fluent written and spoken English and Hebrew
- Familiarity with and experience in obtaining Israel Import requirements including but not limited to: Encryption Licenses Electrical Safety Israel Standards Institute and Wi-Fi/NFC import permits
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Accounting or Trade related field.
- Experience with import/export compliance
- Experience with Israeli import/export regulations with proven knowledge of Israel Customs regulations including Self Use exemption processes.
- Experience in working in a global company based in Israel
- Experience developing processes to meet internal control requirements
- Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable processes.
- Certified Israeli customs broker
- Good problem solving techniques
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills
