Embedded Software Engineer

Telefire develops advanced fire detection and smoke management products for commercial, industrial and public buildings.
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Engineer to join our Hardware & Embedded team and take part in developing the next generation of our fire detection and life-safety products.
This is a key development role with significant ownership, working on embedded systems across multiple products from initial design and architecture through implementation, integration, testing, certification and production.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for multiple Telefire products.
Develop firmware for microcontroller-based systems and embedded devices.
Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, debugging, and HW/FW integration.
Develop diagnostic, testing, and production-support capabilities.
Contribute to system architecture, technical design, development processes and code quality.
Support verification, certification, compliance, and production processes.
Collaborate closely with QA, Software, Engineering, Support and other Telefire teams.

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of hands-on embedded / firmware development experience.
Strong programming skills in C / C++.
Experience developing firmware for microcontrollers.
Good understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and hardware interfaces.
Experience with embedded communication protocols and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet.
Experience with debugging embedded systems using laboratory and debugging tools.
Ability to understand schematics and work closely with hardware engineers.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and technical problems.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
