Our client is a trailblazer in olfactory research, focusing on the development of a groundbreaking product currently in the research phase. They are committed to deepening the understanding of scent perception through innovative AI technologies.

The product, still in its research stage, involves exploring the intricate relationships between molecular structures and their olfactory properties and harnessing AI, particularly deep learning, to analyze and classify scents.

As the Head of the AI Research Team, you will play a crucial role in leading this exciting project. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and guide a team of 4-5 researchers, steering the project's research and development in uncharted territories of scent perception.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 4-5 AI researchers and data scientists in the field of olfactory science.
• Oversee the development of AI models, particularly in deep learning, to push the boundaries of understanding molecular structure and scent relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of AI insights into the product development pipeline.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and olfactory science, driving innovation and research in product development.
• Effectively communicate the team's progress, challenges, and achievements to company stakeholders and the scientific community.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Neuroscience, or a related field, with a focus on AI, machine learning, or neuroscientific aspects of olfaction.
• Significant experience in leading AI research teams, with a preference for expertise in deep learning and sensory science, chemistry, or neuroscience.
• Demonstrated capability in managing small to medium-sized research teams.
• Strong foundation in machine learning, neural networks, particularly deep learning techniques, and data analysis.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in Computer Vision and/or Natural Language Processing (NLP) will be considered highly relevant and advantageous.
