Role Description

For the Group of Biomimetic Mechanical Systems and Interfaces, we offer a full-time on-site Postdoctoral Researcher role in the field of wetting, investigating liquid diodes- surfaces that promote directional flow in the capillary regime. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with conducting research in physics and data analysis, including designing and performing experiments, analyzing data, presenting findings, and contributing to publications. They will also be responsible for teaching and mentoring students and junior researchers.

Qualifications

• Laboratory Skills including experience with scientific equipment and experimentation techniques
• Expertise in conducting research in physics and data analysis including experience with MATLAB, Python, or other relevant software
• Experience in teaching and mentoring students and junior researchers
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics or related field
• Experience in grant writing is a plus
