Senior Data Engineer

Balance is seeking a talented individual to join us as a Data Engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and build our Data infrastructure from the ground up, playing a pivotal role in our scalability and data-driven decision-making processes.

As the first Data Engineer at Balance, you will be instrumental in designing and constructing our Data infrastructure, helping scaling operations and optimizing data utilization for Product and Risk decisions, as well as guiding the company's strategic initiatives. This position provides a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact and contribute significantly to our growth.

Responsibilities:

• Full ownership and responsibility for Balance’s data stack
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Select the tools and system architecture required to enable stakeholders to efficiently and optimally utilize data.
• Implement ML modules supporting our application.
• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Building the data engineering team as the company scales.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Data Engineer experience, preferably from Fintech companies.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong proficiency with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience working with Cloud DB such as Snowflake/Redshift.
• Experience working with ETL tools such as - Fivetran/Rivery/Airbyte.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical skills.
• An ambitious team player with a strong ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Excellent communication abilities in both Hebrew and English.
