Senior Backend Developer

hiSky is an innovative satellite communications network that provides low-cost satellite services to users worldwide. Unique in the satellite industry, hiSky operates a cost-effective and easy-to-install IoT network specifically designed to transmit and receive IoT/M2M and MSS data. Our network is fully operational and in-market, supplying the connectivity needs of industries operating in remote locations, both on-land, in-sea, on-the-move, and static.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our fantastic team in hiSky Israel’s Office and work with us on our highly advanced NMS cloud infrastructure, incorporating the cutting-edge technology needed to deal with issues unique to the satellite communication industry. hiSky 360 NMS is our operations portal where authorized subscribers or re-sellers can monitor and administer the hiSky platform and its components. 

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience as a Pythone Backend Engineer using Django.
• Experience with big data.
• Proficient at version control and juggling multiple branches on multiple environments
• Experience using either GraphQL or Django Rest Framework to write APIs
• Linux server management experience

What you’ll do:

·      Develop CI/CD pipelines for our services, including GitHub Actions

·      Manage Ubuntu/Debian-flavored servers to maintain reliable uptime and roll out upgrades while using Python or other scripting languages to automate the boring things

·      Work on scaling our services as we support more customers

·      Write clean, efficient Django/Python code for the GraphQL API and all kinds of other things

·      Find ways to improve our overall architecture

·      Mentor less experienced developers in the team

·      Support testing and troubleshooting

·      Writing and maintaining tests
