The role of the Head of Media Buying within Aporia is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimising media buying strategies to achieve marketing and advertising objectives.
The role involves managing several teams of media buyers, negotiating with media vendors, and staying abreast of industry trends to ensure effective and efficient media campaigns.
Key outcomes of the role
- Develop and implement comprehensive media buying strategies
- Collaborate with the advertising teams to understand campaign goals and target audience
- Work together with the Teamleads to manage several teams of media buyers, providing guidance, mentorship and support
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of media buying professional
- Conduct thorough research on media channels, demographics, and market trends to inform media buying decisions
- Negotiate and secure favourable media placements and rates with various traffic sources
- Analyse data and performance metrics to optimise media buying strategies for maximum effectiveness
- Develop and manage budgets for media buying activities, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with overall financial goals
- Monitor and report on budget utilisation, providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with traffic sources, negotiating contracts and ensuring favourable terms
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in media pricing to make informed decisions
- Implement tracking and measurement mechanisms to evaluate the success of media campaigns
- Provide regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and recommending adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with other departments, such as content management, HR and Finance, to ensure seamless execution of integrated campaigns
- Stay informed about the organisations products, services, and target audience to align media buying strategies
- Ensure that all media buying activities comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and ethical standards
- Have a passion for media buying
- Bring demonstrable experience in leading media buying teams, with a track record of successful campaigns, with demonstrated progression into leadership roles
