Configuration Management Engineer

The Engineering Data Management Engineer is responsible for developing and managing the Engineering Change Order process for product families/lines, from documentation of the initial problem statement through implementation and execution of the engineering change. Ensures rapid and efficient processing of ECOs, resulting in cost-effective change implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prioritizes Review of ECOs and expedites release of ECO.
• Review ECOs for content completeness, Structure of Bill of Material, organizational impact, and functional product impact.
• Determines the effect of ECOs on products and processes; adequately ascertains who needs to be included in the ECO's evaluation, disposition, assignment, definition, approval, and implementation; routes ECOs.
• Responsible for the engineering budget control and implementation of BI tools.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or Practical Engineer Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical engineering
• 3+ Years of proven Experience in EDM/PDM activities
• Knowledge of Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, forms, instructions, and policies
• Knowledge of PDM and BOMs and item master theory.
• Knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes and the ability to engage with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials to include basic lean philosophy and principles.
• Arena and Priority experience – strong advantage.
• Knowledge of design tools (HW & ME)/Experience in drawing review - an advantage.
