Candidates are expected to possess a strong background in microbiology, complemented by hands-on experience in computational microbial genomic projects. They should be well-versed with relevant databases and tools used in this field, demonstrating practical familiarity and proficiency. They should be able to work both independently and as part of a team to analyze data, draw conclusions and design follow-up experiments accordingly.

In your role, you will not only be implementing our bioinformatics pipelines and contributing to ongoing research but also playing a crucial part in the design and development of a targeted NGS panel for a diverse array of pathogens.

Role Description

• Targeted panel design for pathogenic targets (i.e., bacterial, viral, parasitic…)
• Support the pipeline for the creation of new panels, from design to validation
• Design new analytical tools for our disruptive new technologies
• Formulate automated checkpoints and reports for QC
• Communicate with the wet lab team to understand, design and analyze experiments.

Requirements

• MSc, or above
• R
• Python
• Windows+Linux
• Dynamic and agile thinking. Demonstrated ability to integrate new and innovative ideas
• Proficient in analyzing and interpreting scientific research
• Bioinformatics
• Statistics/mathematical background (advantage)
• Experimental background in the field of pathogen research (advantage)
