Optical Engineer

A Medical Device company located in Tel Aviv is looking for an Electro-Optical Engineer to join the R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the development of an electrooptical system, its modules and components.
• Analyze system performance issues and testers from production floor, suggest solutions and validate them.
• Lead the efforts to increase system reliability.
• Incorporates methods for maintenance and repair of components.
• Designs, and develops test instrumentation and test procedures.
• Confer with engineering and technical personnel regarding fabrication and testing of prototype systems; Modify design as required.
• Build and validate electro-optical setups in the lab and transfer them to production.
• Assist the operation group with the development of manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication processes

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical engineering or Physics with specialization in electro-optics and experience in imaging devices.
• Experience of 2+ years as a system engineer
• Experience in development and integration of multi-disciplinary system (mechanics, optics, electronics, SW)
• Hands-on in electro-optical lab.
• Experience in defining and testing optical components and modules.
• Experience in Optical Coherence Tomography or White Light interferometry – an advantage.
• Hands-on in Zemax or similar optical simulation software.
• Hands-on in Matlab or Python.
• Experience in working with international vendors.
• Fluent English
