The Key Responsibilities Of The Role

Capital Management – ownership of IT capital administration and coordination across the product umbrellas to create clarity of upfront ask and ongoing

management against the forecasts.

• Central co-ordination and oversight of the IT capital, managing all relevant parties and working to adjust the processes for efficiencies
• Support of the Investment Committee throughout the capital year, from upfront determination through to tracking and closing the year against the planned numbers
• Stakeholder management across the executives, supporting the information sharing and decision making at key points across the lifecycle.
  
  

Business Management – responsible for ensuring governance structures, management reporting and business processes are appropriate for the oversight of the business and the discussion of key issues.

• Produce required reporting and presentations for corporate wide initiatives or governance meetings including engagement with Audit, Legal, Compliance and Risk. Frame and influence the shape and output of the reporting
• Support the direction and creation of Management Information across stakeholders within the bank, including shaping the reporting for the needs of the various readers and governance
• Drive various Product Management governance meetings, including the monthly leadership meetings and quarterly town halls, ensuring wide diversity of topic and key decisions are made. Ensure the leadership governance remains appropriate for the oversight of the function and the discussion of key issues.
• Represent the Product Management division at key meetings and committees.
• Key point of contact/gatekeeper for Product Management for other stakeholders around the Bank.
  
  

Branding, publicity and knowledge sharing – clearly communicate and advocate the Product Management strategy, individual product strategies and participate in developing strategic plans and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the team; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.

• Working alongside our internal teams on the development of the product sections of the intranet and internal Product Management tools to ensure knowledge sharing
• Support and refine the development of the Product Management strategy, including relevant internal and externally facing materials including regular updates from the product teams for the client facing groups, drawing out themes and aligning back to the strategy
• Support the development of coherent product roadmaps across all umbrellas and determine shapes for repeatable and accessible information for internal and external use
• Produce appropriate communications to articulate the changes to and the decisions made by the team
• Improve the branding for product management across Asset Servicing.
  
  

Framework for Product Management – support the work to improve the working practices of the Product Management team

• Create and drive the internal working groups to update key elements of the way that we support our product managements from training through to communication
• Support and drive the roll out Pledge, Paragon, risk frameworks and other governance elements to gain alignment within the wider Enterprise wide project requirements
  
  

Team management – day to day management of the Business Management team

• Developing all team members to gain success in their Northern Trust careers, building their skills and coaching as appropriate
• Conducts performance management and career development processes in accordance with manager requirements
  
  

The Successful Candidate Will Benefit From Having

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in presenting ideas and analysis to senior management
• Proven track record of interfacing with a wide range of people and have excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong business writing and editing skills – ability to take complex/technical content and simplify for a non-technical audience
• Strong PowerPoint skills – ability to decipher key messages create slides that deliver poignant information with creativity starting from paragraphs of information or with very little direction
• Demonstrable success with executive-level initiatives, complex problem analysis and resolution, and handling multiple projects of various sizes simultaneously to deadline
• A strategic and creative thinker, able to generate ideas and influence senior management
• Comfortable with data, able to identify risks and opportunities and react accordingly
• Flexible self-starter with the ability to work independently or collaboratively, across multiple regions
• Proficient across the Microsoft Office application suite
