Accountant (Aspiring Financial Director)

We are looking for an experienced Accountant that is interested in advancing their career with ambitions of becoming a financial director. In this position you will be responsible for the company's accounting from invoice to end of year report while directly reporting to the CEO.

You will play a pivotal role in our finance department, contributing to the overall financial health and strategic financial planning of the organization. This role is designed for an individual with a strong foundation in accounting, who aspires to advance their career.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and advise on financial decisions. (mentoring will be provided)
• Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets. Conduct variance analysis and forecast revisions to ensure financial targets are met. (mentoring will be provided)
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable local and international regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, reviewing all formal finance procedures
• Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning sessions, providing financial insights and analysis to support organizational growth and efficiency, developing plans for growth to increase company profit while keeping an eye on reducing expenditure
• Financial Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accuracy. Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
• Stakeholder Communication Collaborate with different departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Prepare financial presentations for management and board meetings
• Professional Development:*Engage in ongoing professional development to gain skills relevant to a Financial Director role, including leadership, strategic thinking, and advanced financial management. Assisting the CEO and CBO in developing financial plans
• Bookkeeping - Responsible for managing and updating the bookkeeping team, and also getting your hands dirty with daily bookkeeping, Month-end closing process (Perform and record accruals and cut-off accounts, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, credit cards postings, and reconciliations, prepaid expenses, BS accounts reconciliations, etc.), recording AP invoices and performing vendors reconciliations, Issue AR invoices and accounts reconciliations, including managing the collection process
• Oversee all payment cycles (vendors and expense report payments etc.)
• Be able to set up and manage monetary transactions in the bank
• Participate and oversee in the monthly payroll process, prepare and post payrolls JEs
• Take part in the implementation of processes & controls
• Help in preparation of the reports for monthly and quarterly closing, including an annual report for tax and audit
• Monthly and Yearly submissions to the tax authorities
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• English - Perfectly fluent
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  
  

This role is structured to support your growth towards a CFO position. Successful performance in this role can lead to advanced roles such as Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, and eventually, a path to a CFO role.
