Role Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced DevOps Engineer, with a specialization in Linux, to join our dynamic DevOps team.

As a key contributor, you will report to the Director of Core Software, Broadband business unit.

Location

Hybrid role – working at least three days a week from our offices in Caesarea.

What You Will Be Doing

Have you ever wanted to experience working in a Linux distribution environment? Harmonic's core products are built on Debian packages and Docker images running on Kubernetes.

The team manages a robust framework for handling Debian packages, utilizing Apt repositories and package builders.

The build system comprises an array of Python, Perl, and Bash modules, incorporating REST API servers, clients using an event bus (RMQ), and automation with Jenkins.

Your day-to-day activities will revolve around the maintenance and development of Linux systems, servers, and containerized solutions.

The Role Includes

• Developing and maintaining tools to support Debian package building and frameworks.
• Operating and troubleshooting our automated build system.
• Administering Debian servers, builders, and repositories.
• Providing support to development teams and conducting in-depth issue investigations
  
  

• 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with orientation to Linux CI/CD, GitOps and shell scripting
• 2 years of experience in Python programming.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge in Networking and Security
• Good interpersonal communication skills, ability to work in a team, and independent learning.
• Very good English, both spoken and written.
• Advanced Linux knowledge, including software packaging (DEB, RPM), Systemd - advantage
• Experience in Linux Container technology (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) – advantage
• Knowledge in embedded system development, especially with Yocto - advantage
• Advanced Jenkins knowledge, including Groovy declarative pipelines and Jenkins shared libraries - advantage
