Global Value Engineer

Stratasys, a leading innovator in 3D printing technology, is seeking a highly motivated Global Value Engineer to join our dynamic Global Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse departments including operations, R&D, and sourcing to drive initiatives aimed at reducing products costs and optimizing production processes, ultimately contributing to a more competitive pricing strategy for our 3D printers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

• Collaborate with the sourcing team to identify and implement efficiency improvements in the manufacturing processes of 3D printers.
• Work closely with the R&D department to analyze product designs, suggesting modifications for cost reduction without compromising product quality or performance.
• Engage with the sourcing team to identify cost-effective suppliers to optimize component and assembly costs.
• Lead cross-functional teams and projects to implement hardware cost-saving initiatives, ensuring global alignment and consistency.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering assessments to identify areas for improvement through the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with various teams across the globe to understand cost reduction opportunities related to product design, product packaging, manufacturing process and non-value wastes.
• Stay abreast of machine building and mechanical industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes to provide insights for strategic cost reduction decision-making.
• Coordinate and participate with subcontractors and suppliers on design for cost initiatives, from idea to implementation.
• Lead internal and external testing and qualifications of new components to ensure compliance and adhering to product specifications and performance.
• Develop, manage and conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) process for parts and assemblies.
• Serve as Operations technical link to R&D (SW,ME,EE,SE) in regards to cost saving opportunities and execution.
• Conduct Engineering Change orders (ECO) up to full implementation to assure that changes are made on quality, on time and on planned cost.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering
• Minimum 6+ year proven hands-on experience in value engineering, cost analysis, and process optimization within the machine manufacturing sector or consumer electronics.
• Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
• Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams globally.
• Clear Thinker, ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Familiarity with 3D printing technology and the additive manufacturing industry is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English language communications skills. Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships on a multi-level basis
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary environment, leading DFX processes
• Experience in CAD software – Solid Works an advantage.
• PDM / PLM tools – Agile an advantage.
