Cloud FinOps

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for our AWS, and other cloud environments Cost Optimisation Data Analyst focused on forecasting cloud spending, allocating, budgeting cloud spending, and recommendations for cloud optimizations.

Be a subject matter expert, manage knowledge of cost optimizations and technologies used by other team members.

You will:

• Investigate and understand every line item on our cloud infrastructure invoices.
• Optimize performance to spend where you need to and redistribute resources (hands-on).
• Suggest areas for improving spend by finding better rates or improved technology.
• Find anomalies in usage patterns and give quick feedback in order to course-correct.
• Predict, plan, and ensure resources utilization to estimate the need for the future and negotiate a discount or pre-allocate resources.
• Create intelligence reporting and alerts to inform teams to facilitate cost optimization and minimize waste, based on our budget.
• Automate everything you can.
• Keep up to date on the latest cloud products and trends.

• Data-driven and detail-oriented; testing and measuring every step.
• Knowledge of relevance monitoring and measuring to identify areas for improvement.
• Be able to consolidate several streams of information to see the big picture
• Knowledge of AWS pricing ( Saving Plan, RI, etc.)
• Intimate familiarity with the cost structure of AWS.
• Extensive knowledge in AWS.
• Experienced with SaaS products and CI-CD over SaaS.
• Programming skills including Python and abilities to handle and modify DevOps tools.
• Experienced in IaC and Configuration management tools (such as terraform/CloudFormation/chef/ansible/puppet) - An advantage.
• Experience as DevOps - An advantage.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
