Your role as a Supervisor, Ballpark Security – Third Shift:
You will be primarily responsible for supervising and directing an assigned shift while developing, growing, and leading reporting security officers. You will provide a safe and secure experience for all who come to Petco Park while upholding the organizational core values to the highest degree possible.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results, through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community
- Assigning and training staff regarding their post deployment while monitoring and evaluating work performance; rewarding and disciplining employees by initiating positive feedback or taking corrective actions and/or disciplinary procedures if necessary
- Conducting daily shift briefings to ensure that assigned officers are prepared for their shift and receive all necessary training and information
- Setting an example of proficiency and exemplary behavior for all security officers on their shift
- Participating in employee selection, hiring and onboarding processes
- Responsible for all scheduling and payroll needs for Third Shift Ballpark Security Officers
- Monitoring and operating CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems
- Ensuring security officers are trained to utilize ISS Incident Management Software for all department logs, reports, equipment inventory, preventative maintenance and shift pass on reports are accurately maintained
- Conducting detailed internal investigations into incidents and providing detailed, objective reports for each shift or incident
- Establishing, cultivating, and maintaining effective relationships with management, peers, outside agencies, and subordinates
- Assisting with events and the closure of events
- Attending necessary meetings to obtain event logistics and then inform reporting security officers of upcoming event logistics
- Patrolling all ballpark property as required, in a friendly and professional manner, while ensuring the security and safety of all employees, partners, and guests
- Detecting and resolving immediate safety and criminal issues
- Responding to the scene of an incident and acting as an emergency first responder, if required
- Maintaining absolute confidentiality on sensitive issues
- Following established Ballpark Security Manual and procedures
- Completing all other duties as assigned
- Having previous experience in large public assembly facilities is a plus but not necessary
- Completion of courses in criminal justice or security training by a recognized academy, school, or organization is desirable
- Possess BSIS Security Guard certifications a plus
- Previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety experience a plus
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner. Must be able to use initiative and independent judgement within established guidelines
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum two years’ experience and/or training in related field
- Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Availability to consistently work Third shift hours, from 9:00PM until 5:30AM PST, for five assigned working days ranging from Saturday through Sunday
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
- Able to travel as needed
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 100 pounds; able to ride a bicycle for prolonged periods of time
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Per the California pay transparency law, the base pay rate for this full-time position is $23.47. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
