• Description:* The drafter / detailer will work closely with design originators preparing drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs. A high degree of precision in development of drawings and parts lists that include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings is expected. Performs difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise to visualize and portray complex drawings and models. Anticipates problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation and addresses these problems in the documents produced. Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent. Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.

• Associate Degree or equivalent experience

• 4 years of experience using Autodesk software (AutoCAD and Inventor) and established standards to develop and revise complex drawings and parts lists of electro-mechanical equipment from technical data packages, 3D model files, actual equipment, and/or sketches.
• Extensive knowledge of drafting field required.
• Able to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
• Able to plan own work and use judgment within limits of standard practice.
• Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Desired Skills 2 to 3 years of experience using Autodesk Inventor to develop and revise 3D models of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Looking for someone more designing experience.
• more experience in weldments, piping/plumbing, structural design and/or mechanical drives to meet some of our future requirements.
• Someone who understands or knowledge with NIWC or SPAWAR (this is a format used typically with Navy, it is used for documentation)
• Company is transitioning into new ERP system so anyone who has knowledge with Deltek or other ERP systems.
• 2023 Autodesk inventor and autoCAD.

• Mechanism design and site layouts is what they are needing more of. Only one designer who does their drives and complicated mechanisms so someone who can come in and take off the work load of that person. Site drawings to connect all the equipment together.
