Mechanical QA Inspector

Full-Time NESET position

Roles & Responsibilities

1.      Inspection and Quality Control:

·        Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment and installations, including piping, valves, compressors, and pumps.

·        Ensure compliance with project specifications, Hess quality standards, and safety regulations.

·        Monitor and audit the work of subcontractors to ensure mechanical works adhere to contractual agreements and quality benchmarks.

2.     Documentation and Reporting:

·        Prepare and maintain quality documentation such as inspection reports, test results, and certification records.

·        Report any non-conformances or discrepancies in installation or equipment to the Project Manager and propose corrective actions.

3.     Testing and Verification:

·        Perform and witness tests on mechanical systems and components to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

·        Verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and tools.

·        Review project turnover documentation and packages, ensuring accurate and complete documentation was delivered.

4.     Continuous Improvement:

·        Recommend improvements to internal processes and quality control techniques.

·        Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical quality assurance within the oil and gas sector.

Experience/Education

Preferred Qualifications:

·        A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical quality assurance roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Preferred Certifications:

·        Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) - Preferred

·        AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar welding inspection certification - Required

·        API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector and/or API 570 Piping Inspector certifications - Preferred

·        ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification - Preferred
