Role Specific Responsibilities

• Works extensively with customers along with appropriate internal and external resources (e.g. Cisco account teams, partners) on the strategy/deployment/optimization of Cisco services and solutions.
• Takes leadership role in execution of delivery projects.
• Improves solutions and methods developed in the field for use to the wider practice (knowledge sharing).
• Creates , reviews and approves project deliverables e.g. Design recommendations, High Level Design, Low Level Design, Implementation/ Change Management Plans.
• Builds and/or leverage test environments as required to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues
• Leverages software skills and tools to configure, deploy and/or troubleshoot Cisco products and solutions. Contributes in the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g. scripts, digital signatures).
• Acts as a focal point for problem resolution for assigned customer engagements. Assures proper and quick resolution of complex customer problems across a broad range of technologies.

• Independently applies known solutions and templates to complete deliverables. Leads in creating and delivering consulting recommendations to the customer. Expertise

• Typically requires BSc Computer Science or equivalent plus 5-8 years of relevant work experience. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Expert level (e.g. CCIE) or equivalent relevant certification desired.
• Has working knowledge of software programmability, automation, orchestration and/or virtualization.
• in-depth knowledge of firewall (packet filtering, application level gateway, next generation) configurations within a cloud environment
• Deep understanding of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation and reporting
• Identify and develop mitigation strategies for cybersecurity threats and security vulnerabilities
• Evaluate configuration changes and their impact to the security posture of multiple enterprise cloud solutions
• Analyze Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
• Assess Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST 800-53 R4 Information Assurance Controls
• Assess and assist with implementation recommendations of countermeasures or mitigating controls
• Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of Enterprise security policies, through monitoring and analysis of vulnerability scans and system log information
• Perform documentation requirements for periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance
• Prepare incident reports of analysis methodology and results
• Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members and customers
• Interpret results from network/server/application scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, Checkmarx and Fortify
• Interpret, document, and advise customers on emerging security, governance, and continuous monitoring policies
• Articulate cybersecurity risk to senior leadership and provide recommendations for remediation/risk acceptance
• Develop and/or support the successful development of cybersecurity processes and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to function in ambiguous circumstances. Shares information and communicates clearly with worldwide team members to improve team effectiveness. Possesses customer consulting skills including ability to build relationships with customers, engineers, managers level & above.

As a Customer Delivery Consulting Engineer who specializes in Cisco Security Solutions, you will support our customers development of complex designs, assist with the implementation of Cisco leading edge technologies, and provide optimization services to one Cisco's largest and most strategic customers in the United States.

Who You'll Work With

Our team is comprised of engineers across Cisco technologies, most have one or more CCIE certifications. These team members design, architect, and support solution delivery on critical Federal-owned networks with leading edge Cisco tools and solutions. Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills are traits of successful consultants in this organization. We have a very strong focus on continuous development and training into new technologies that keeps us in the leading position as one of the strongest networking, datacenter, and security consulting teams in the industry. As a part of this team, you will work directly with our customers and gain hands on experience and exposure into their networks to collaborate on a variety of high-profile projects.

Who You Are

• You will have 5+ years of experience as a network security engineer supporting Cisco enterprise security technologies and should have a deep understanding of Cisco's Security solution portfolio and significant expertise with data networks
• Be a subject matter expert in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
• Subject matter expertise with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
• Extensive experience leading Enterprise strategy and implementation of complex security solutions for large-scale global Federal agencies
• Be able to demonstrate your ability to lead or guide teams made up of Cisco, Customer and Partner members in the analysis and troubleshooting of complex network issues
• Collaborate with solution experts to develop and deploy secure solutions
• In-depth knowledge of designing complex security solutions
• Experienced with implementing security solutions
• Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment and work independently while maintaining exceptional communication skills
• Exceptional professionalism, outstanding communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills are critical traits
