Job Description:

As a Senior Backend Engineer and Platform Squad Lead at our company, you will play a pivotal role in steering our engineering team's efforts in developing robust backend solutions and leading platform innovations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our product's capabilities, efficiency, and overall technical excellence. Your Impact:

• Enhance Backend Systems: Utilize cutting-edge technologies to scale and improve backend systems supporting a wide range of applications.
• Squad Leadership: Lead a platform squad, orchestrating the efforts of engineers to align with company objectives and product development goals.
• Champion Engineering Projects: Advocate for impactful projects, promote engineering best practices, and contribute significantly to the field of software craftsmanship.
• Diverse Technical Environment: Work with a variety of programming languages including Rust, Clojure, Elixir, and Golang.
• Collaborative Efforts: Engage closely with other teams in the company, managing mission-critical microservices and APIs.

Qualifications:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years in backend software development with strong coding skills and experience in software design/architecture.
• High-scale System Expertise: Experience with critical production systems, encompassing load balancing, caching, and distributed systems.
• Web Services Proficiency: Expertise in designing and maintaining web services, with a focus on REST and WebSocket protocols.
• Monitoring Skills: Proficient in monitoring high-rate, intensive systems and defining alerts, utilizing tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Kubernetes Expertise: Extensive experience in Kubernetes, demonstrating a high level of proficiency.
• AWS Cloud Expertise: Deep experience with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Elasticache, and EKS.
• End-to-End Leadership: Ability to lead projects from conception to completion, effectively breaking down complex problems into manageable parts.

Leadership and Management:

• Team Mentorship: Guide backend engineers, fostering their development and leading by example.
• Technical Leadership: Drive technical discussions, contribute to architectural decisions, and provide advanced technical insights.
• Problem-solving Skills: Excel in solving complex issues with an emphasis on simplicity and practicality.
