Physics Team Leader

SemiConductor Devices (SCD), a leading worldwide supplier of high-end Infrared Detectors and thermal video cores is looking for Physics Team Leader.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Team Leader will be responsible of a team of 2-5 physicists.

The team Leader role is divided between management and hands-on technical work (~50%).

As a manager the team leader (TL) is responsible of the delivery of the team, closely working with projects Managers, Marketing and Management. The TL is responsible of tasks assignment and planning in the team, process development, providing active mentoring to his teammates, motivation, positive communication, hiring and professional expertise.

The TL will be also responsible of accompanying the strategic development of the group with his direct manager and physics' leadership team and should demonstrate the capability to accompany and lead strategic changes with positive mindset and excellent teamwork. 

Physicists in the team participate to the conception and development of detectors and accompany its development through the different stages of the projects from conception to inception at customers. The physicist will also support the production line and should provide insights from physics perspective to the different functions of the company during the project development: Process teams, material growth, VLSI, Electronics, Mechanics, and Marketing. The physicist should will have a system view of the detector with capability to understand the underlying physics process at material level, VLSI, and system level.

The position includes important part of experimental work in laboratory environment, simulations development, data analysis and regular reports to management and project development team.

The lead physicist should demonstrate important autonomy and leadership capabilities.

Background requirements:

·       Phd in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, Aeronautical Engineering or related field in engineering.

·       Msc Candidate with relevant background, achievement and excellent record will be considered

·       Demonstrated experience in Leadership - experience with team management very important advantage

·       At least 5 years of relevant experience in Technological industry

·       Strong technical experience in at least two of the following fields:

è  Semi-conductors, Solid State Physics, Electro-Optics Devices, Lasers, Image Processing, IR detectors, Optics, Simulations, data analysis.

Skillset Requirements:

·       Proficiency in Matlab is mandatory, Python an advantage
