Associate Cyber Security Analyst

Associate Cyber Security Operations Center Analyst (CSOC) – 100% remote (Charlotte, NC or Clearwater, FL*)

Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the IT energy space is seeking an off-hours Associate level Cyber Security Operations Center Analyst to help support their growing SOC! The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst will have knowledge of security monitoring, common attacks, risk management concepts, etc. The ideal person for this role will have come from an infrastructure or IT-related role and completed their Security+ or related certification. At minimum, this person must have knowledge of what’s in the Security+ exam. After initial training, this candidate will start on the overnight shift and within the first year, be transitioned into a first shift role.

*This person needs to live within reasonable driving distance to Charlotte, NC or Clearwater, FL. This person needs to be a commutable distance in case of emergencies.

Key Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ working as a Security Analyst, IT Admin, Network admin, Systems Admin, or related role
• Knowledge of threat intel, SIEM technology, threat hunting, DNS attacks, common threats, etc.
• Keen understanding of networking technologies and protocols
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and learn new technologies
• Written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with peers, vendors, customers, and senior management
• Passion for Cyber Security and learning
• Strong knowledge of material in the CompTIA Security+

*Please note: This role starts with the first day onsite in Charlotte, NC but then goes fully remote. Candidate needs to be within a commutable distance to Charlotte, NC OR Clearwater, FL in case of an emergency but are not required to be onsite.
