R2Net is a diamond bridal jewelry company with a technology soul. R2Net Inc. is an innovative technology company that provides e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry’s ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.

The Merchant will take a hands-on approach to support the Vice President of Merchandising in the management and production of jewelry and act as a liaison between merchandising, quality control, marketing, and suppliers. The merchant will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our business by identifying, developing, and launching new products and collections. This role requires a highly analytical and creative individual who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, increase revenue, and improve margins. Responsibilities:

• Assist with the strategy, development, and selection of merchandise while supporting the department through the products life cycle.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer preferences.
• Manage the product development process from ideation to launch, including product development, sourcing, pricing, and promotion.
• Work with the marketing team to create and implement effective product launch strategies, including pricing, promotion, and distribution.
• Analyze product performance and market data to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
• Provide reports and status updates to the Director of Jewelry regarding all ongoing projects.
• Create working relationships with vendors that will bring on new styles to fill assortment gaps.
• Partner with local and international suppliers and manufacturers.
• Process all info into the production management system, including style set-up, costing, and margins.
• Request cost breakdown from vendors using a standardized costing template.
• Review and approve CADs, Specs, and Jpegs for each design before submitting material to internal team and vendors.
• Manage sample orders with vendors for new products to present to the VP of Merchandising for final review and approval.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective product launches, optimized merchandising, and coordinated marketing campaigns.
• Assist with ad-hoc requests.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant major.
• Graduate Gemologist (GG) or similar certification preferred.
• Knowledge of jewelry and jewelry manufacturing necessary.
• 5+ years of experience in merchandising, retail, or e-commerce.
• Experience resolving and communicating about issues with both data-driven and non-data driven audiences.
• Ability and knowledge to understand and analyze product cost breakdown (metal, diamond, labor).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead a team.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Proven track record of developing and launching successful products and collections.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Deep understanding of the diamond and jewelry industry, market trends, and customer preferences.
