Laboratory Technician

Position Overview:

We seek a skilled and motivated laboratory technician to join our research team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in flow cytometry (FACS), cell culture techniques (in vitro), molecular biology, and experience working with mice. As a critical member of our research group, you will play a key role in conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to advancing our scientific objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer experimental treatments and interventions to mice, monitor their health and behavior, and collect relevant samples for analysis.

Collaborate with researchers and scientists to implement laboratory protocols, adapt methodologies, and contribute to developing innovative techniques.

Keep meticulous records of experimental procedures, protocols, results, and observations in accordance with established guidelines.

Perform flow cytometry (FACS) experiments, including sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis, to investigate cellular properties and biomarkers.

Cultivate and maintain various cell lines and primary cells in controlled in vitro environments, ensuring optimal growth conditions and experimental reproducibility.

Conduct molecular biology experiments, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gene expression analysis, and Western blotting, to explore molecular mechanisms and pathways.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring their proper functionality and coordinating with the appropriate personnel for maintenance and repairs.

Participate in team discussions, share findings, and contribute to the interpretation of results during meetings.

Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Immunology) is required.

Proven experience with flow cytometry (FACS), including sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis.

Proficiency in cell culture techniques (in vitro), with a strong understanding of cell biology and maintenance.

Hands-on experience working with mice, including handling, treatment administration, and sample collection.

Solid understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to document procedures and results accurately.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the aptitude to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.

Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines pertaining to laboratory work.

Demonstrated commitment to research ethics and integrity.
