Markforged is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be a pivotal onsite contributor at our contract manufacturer in Modi’in, Israel. This role demands a proactive individual who can build strong relationships with our supplier and excel as the primary manufacturing engineering contact for the Markforged Operations Team. The ideal candidate will focus on enhancing manufacturing processes, implementing new technologies, and facilitating the introduction of new products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Primarily co-located with the contract manufacturer to establish and maintain robust supplier relationships, representing Markforged’s manufacturing engineering interests onsite.
• Collaborate closely with the Markforged Operations Program Manager to smoothly transition new products to the contract manufacturer for volume production.
• Provide expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) for all new product introductions.
• Act as the primary interface for the implementation of fixtures, equipment, and Markforged-specific processes at the contract manufacturer.
• Lead efforts to optimize manufacturing processes for cost efficiency, line effectiveness, and product quality, working closely with the contract manufacturer to identify and bridge gaps.
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures in coordination with the corporate operations team.
• Serve as the primary escalation contact for manufacturing issues presented by the contract manufacturer.
• Conduct regular audits of the contract manufacturer’s production processes, ensuring adherence to Markforged’s manufacturing standards and best practices.
• Drive the implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the CM teams.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Solid background in working with mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability in DFM/DFA for electromechanical products.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing best practices.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Proven track record of building cross-functional networks for rapid issue resolution.
• Strong organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills.
• Technical troubleshooting skills with a focus on manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics.
• Willingness to be located in Israel full-time, with fluency in English and Hebrew.
• Experience in writing technical documents and familiarity with database tools (JIRA is a plus).
• Knowledge of change control systems (EPDM, Github, ERP, and PLM systems).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Fusion360, SolidWorks, Onshape, etc.).
• Availability for up to 15% international travel, primarily to the USA.
