DevOps Engineer

ASTERRA‘s R&D department is actively seeking a resourceful, highly motivated, and independent engineer, to join our team. The chosen candidate will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to ASTERRA's technological advancement and work with a diverse range of tools and environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage, operate & automate cloud infrastructures and services.
• Deploy the company’s cloud-based solutions, updates, and fixes, providing technical support.
• Oversee our software development platforms, streamline, and innovate build and CI/CD operations, and optimize the costs of our cloud infrastructure and services.
• Take full lifecycle responsibility for Build and Release Engineering pipelines, covering data processing, software build, model training, testing, deployment, and inference.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of modular, reusable, and scalable environments for software development, software build, model training, testing, and production.
• Handle & optimize cyber-security for cloud services.
• Collaboratively solve complex problems in each of the environments.
• Work closely with our deep learning developers, algorithm developers, and software developers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years as a DevOps engineer.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience scripting in Python and Linux shell.
• Practical experience using web-hooks and RESTful APIs.
• Strong proven experience with AWS (IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3, EC2, RDS, cost optimization etc.).
• Experience with Configuration Management using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, such as TerraForm.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GitHub administration & workflows.
• AWS certification.
• DBA experience including PostgreSQL Software Engineering experience.
• Familiarity with Airflow.
• Experience with MLOps technologies such as Dask or Ray.
• Familiarity with geographical imagery and GIS data including geospatial DB’s.
