As an Observability Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for helping customers understand the value of observability and how it can be used to improve their business. You will work closely with customers to identify their observability needs, develop solutions, and implement those solutions by leading proof-of-concepts or assisted trials. You will be the key technical resource for the sales team, driving technical discussions and providing training, support on how to best use our observability platform. The work days are Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles, either in a 1:1 or sales team model.
- Engaging with prospective DevOps customers while understanding their day-to-day roles, responsibilities, activities, environment, tools, etc.
- Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
- Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses
- Effectively communicate customer needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements
- Effectively define customer success and on-board customers ensuring adoption, and renewal
- Assist in the seamless transition of a new customer from the Sales team to the Customer Success team resulting in a best-in-class on-boarding experience
- Collect and document competitive intelligence
- Lead Proof-of-Concepts and Assisted Trial evaluations in order to deliver technical proof to prospective customers
- Effectively communicate customer insights and feedback to the R&D teams for future product enhancements
- Strong understanding of observability
- 2+ Years Experience in Pre Sales and customer success
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of the software development life cycle and modern application architectures, programming languages, and development practices (devops, CI/CD, etc) is desired
- A broad technical background in:
- cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- containers, orchestration (Kubernetes)
- microservices, etc.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
- Ability to work for a dynamic, technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
- Domain knowledge and experience in any of the following areas:
- Log Management and Log Analysis
- Infrastructure Monitoring
- Application Performance Management
- Big Data (from a data management perspective)
- Security and Networking Business Intelligence / Web Analytics
- Operational Intelligence, AI, ML
- SIEM / Security
- Can work independently
- Some travel is expected and the qualified candidate will be capable of travel under normal conditions
- Ability to stay up-to-date on the latest observability trends and technologies
- Assist and contribute to the development of our technical enablement strategy (content, labs, tests, etc)
