Head of Software Engineering

One of our clients - an e-commerce company is looking to hire a Head of engineering.

This exciting opportunity has arisen within one of Israel's largest consumer companies, operating as a highly successful startup since 2015. With a sales turnover approaching $200 million annually, this dynamic and influential enterprise is looking for a Head of Engineering to join their team. The company is a business unit of 16 people within a larger company of about 90 employees.

Role Description:

As the Head of Engineering, you will be instrumental in driving the tech direction of the company’s consumer-oriented innovation. This role offers a chance to be at the core of a promising startup, shaping the future of both its e-commerce platform and the entire software infrastructure, including supplier relationships, product delivery, and more. You will manage a small, highly skilled R&D team, including one senior team member, and report directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with the General Manager to align the technological strategy with the overall business goals.
• Lead the development of the company’s e-commerce platform and software infrastructure.
• Mentor and manage a SW engineer, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
• Engage in hands-on engineering work, with 75% emphasis on front-end development tasks.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in coding.
• Proven experience in full-stack roles, with a strong emphasis on front-end development (70%).
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript.
• Experience with backend (node.js)

Hybrid work model, with 1-2 days working from home.

Location: Rothschild, Tel Aviv.
