Your Role:
As the Global Product Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our worldwide go-to-market strategy for SolarWinds Service Desk, our premier IT Service Management (ITSM) solution. We are specifically seeking candidates with robust Product Marketing Manager (PMM) experience coupled with a profound background in ITSM. This role presents a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about ITSM, as you will play a pivotal role in delivering product messaging that resonates across diverse market segments and channels. As a key contributor, you will craft, implement, and refine plans to strategically position and promote SolarWinds Service Desk, leveraging your extensive ITSM expertise to influence senior stakeholders, roadmap decisions, and corporate marketing initiatives. Beyond execution, you will lead and nurture innovative initiatives and projects, fostering collaboration across the company to ensure seamless definition, planning, and execution. Serving as a vital link between the market, product, marketing, and sales, this role offers significant visibility, recognition, and opportunities for career advancement within the company.
Your Impact:
- Drive and execute the global go-to-market strategy for ITSM at SolarWinds, collaborating with marketing, sales, and product teams to secure financial and market success for the product.
- Utilize your in-depth understanding of the ITSM market to address customer challenges, elevating our content and marketing strategies.
- Take charge of revenue attainment, growth, and retention for SolarWinds Service Desk.
- Lead the evolution of our positioning and messaging, ensuring content resonates effectively with the right buyer at the right time.
- Stay attuned to market changes, including competitive shifts, providing insights to inform messaging, go-to-market strategy, and sales execution.
- Strengthen our understanding of current Buyer Personas and monitor for new Buyers, adapting strategies as go-to-market approaches shift into new regions, markets, and buying segments.
- Contribute to the development and execution of cross-functional plans, addressing significant go-to-market challenges.
- Collaborate with product management, offering recommendations and insights on roadmap generation to determine business goals for your products.
- Lead and drive the product launch process and plan, ensuring all business functions are prepared for new product releases for your product/portfolio or cross-portfolio. Ensure that new features and releases get the needed visibility and exposure, both externally and with Sales, to achieve revenue goals.
- Speak for ITSM and SolarWinds Service Desk for internal and external audiences through webcasts, training, executive presentations, analyst briefings, and other speaking opportunities.
- Regularly perform competitive analysis and maintain a deep understanding of the top competitors for your products and portfolio. Analyze alternative offerings, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a strategy for winning. Develop competitive marketing programs and sales enablement resources.
- Support sales and partner with sales leadership to understand product/portfolio challenges and needs relative to selling the offering. Develop and lead training sessions and create and maintain a playbook (including characteristics of good/bad opportunities, buyer insights, key messages, and sales collateral) of sales tools to help them succeed.
Your Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience working in customer-facing roles such as Product Marketing Manager (PMM), Product Management, Content Marketing, Sales Engineer, etc., with a strong PMM background.
- Alternatively, 5+ years of experience working in ITSM in customer-facing roles and a desire to transition into a PMM role.
- A profound understanding of information technology buyers and the IT industry.
- Comfort and proficiency in engaging with customers and prospects through calls or events.
- Recognition of the importance of Product Marketing functions, covering Go-To-Market, Product Launches, Messaging, Buyer Personas, and Sales Enablement.
- Demonstrated ability to generate creative, memorable, and high-impact content.
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the capability to deliver technical content in a concise, value-based manner.
- Proven ability to execute with urgency, showcasing experience influencing cross-functionally to deliver results that drive positive gains.
- A strong technical and sales orientation, with the ability to bridge connections between product management and marketing/sales.
- Proficiency in tracking and interpreting business metrics, with the objective of uncovering new opportunities.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline to thrive in a high-paced environment.
- The capability to excel in various levels of ambiguity and contribute to driving clarity when needed.
- The ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels.
