Infrastructure Engineer

Perimeter 81 is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to be part of the team that maintains, improves, and scales up our production environment. In this role, you will investigate complex production issues, improve our system resilience and

monitoring tools, and automate methods and procedures to reduce workload and improve stability.

Major Responsibilities

• Network Infrastructure Design and Maintenance:

Design, implement, and maintain the organization's DC networking.

Deploy, configure, and upgrade network equipment such as switches and

firewalls.

Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or connectivity issues, and

implement necessary solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network security, data integrity,

and compliance with industry best practices and regulations.

• System Administration:

Administer and maintain the organization's DC servers, virtualization clusters,

and operating systems.

Perform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to

ensure optimal system functionality.

Install, configure, and upgrade server hardware, software, and related

components.

• Network and System Security:

Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion

detection systems, and access controls.

Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to

identify and address potential risks.

Stay updated with the latest security threats and industry trends, and proactively

recommend and implement security enhancements.

Desired Background

• At least 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer/ Infrastructure Engineer
• At least 3 years of experience in large-scale network engineering environments (ISPs, Cloud
• Providers, etc.)
• At least 3 years of experience with networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, LAN, NAT, VPN,
• DNS, DHCP)
• In-depth understanding of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and at least 3 years experience with BGP
• routing, peering, and troubleshooting.
• At least 3 years of experience with firewall administration, including configuration, maintenance, and
• troubleshooting of firewall appliances (e.g. Checkpoint, Pfsense).
• At least 3 years of experience with Linux system administration.
• At least 3 years of experience with Network Automation, Configuration Management, and IaC tools
• (Napalm, Netbox, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
• At least 3 years of experience with observability and monitoring systems (SNMP, DataDog, Prometheus,
• Grafana, etc.)
• At least 2 years of experience with with Virtualization/ Private Cloud environments (Proxmox, ESXI,
• Openstack, Hyper-V)
• At least 3 years of experience with storage networking protocols, such as iSCSI, Fibre Channel, or
• Network-Attached Storage (NAS).
• Proficiency in high availability concepts and implementation, including redundancy,
• failover, and load balancing technologies.
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar
• Familiarity with virtualized and containerized environments ( ECS / Kubernetes) -
